Ecolabelling Ecolabelling is the practice of marking products with a distinctive label to show that their manufacture conforms to recognized environmental standards. It is defined it as a voluntary method of environmental performance certification and labelling that is practiced around the world. It is a label which identifies overall, proven environmental preference of a product or service within a specific/service category. (Global Ecolabelling Network 2013) It marks a product or service that they employ sustainable green methods in the manufacture of their products to be offered to consumers. Environmentally responsible restaurants are more popular with consumers as they choose where to dine, according to National Restaurant Association Research. Restaurateurs recognize that their guests not only want to know what businesses are doing to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly, but are interested in supporting businesses that is in accordance with their morals and values. Because of the growing trend of pressing environmental issues, consumers and restaurateurs alike gear more into the practice of sustainable methods. Their preferences have changed into something that can benefit the environment. That is why their decisions now involve careful consideration of the environment. As sustainability issues are rapidly growing and are more relevant to guests, restaurateurs are looking for ways to reduce waste while saving money and conserving natural resources. Consumers prefer to purchase environmentally sound and eco-friendly products and services nowadays. They are embracing more efficient, cost-wise, environmentally stable business methods. They’re stepping up to reduce and recycle waste, conserve water and electricity, and offer more eco-friendly products to their guests.
