The characteristics a director of an early childhood center have aren’t something you can simply list because they vary greatly depending on the person, knowledge, skills, and the center. You may see a sensitive director with many wonderful characteristics but little experience in one center, and see the manager director with great training but few good qualities to offer in another. Some director’s stay in classrooms most of their day, while others do paperwork, finances, write proposals, and do advocacy work all day. There are even directors that do all of this and more.
