Dylan’s depression weighed on him every day and affected him in his real life situations. One example that shows how depression affected his social life is when his friend Zack started dating Devon. Dylan was so depressed and lonely that when Zack began hanging out with him less he got very angry. In the article Susan Klebold states “It was evident that he no longer liked school; worse, his passion for learning was gone”. (Klebold, Sue, 2009) This statement alone can be a clear indicator of someone with depression. Something that Dylan once liked and achieved in no longer gave him joy.
