Alcohol and Driving
Do you know why drinking and driving is dangerous? Many people don’t realize how dangerous it is before it’s too late. In the state of Delaware “drinking and driving is not tolerated” therefor penalties for this offense may be a DUI (Delaware Driver Manuel). DUI stands for “Driving under the influence” of alcohol or other drugs. Alcohol was affects your body in various way. Sometimes experiences help people learn the hard way.
A DUI is given you to someone if the that person violated or broke a law which was driving intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. If a driver gets arrested that has to do with drinking and driving they might face the “Implied Consent Law”(Delaware Driver Manuel). This law states that driver under the influence of alcohol or other drugs may be drug tested with or without their consent. Depending on your blood alcohol concentration or well known as BAC determines how tough the penalties. He borrowed his boss’s truck. As he was drinking he was already intoxicated and there was a “car parked on the side of the road with his blinking lights”(Greg). Greg crashed that car and killed the man in the car during the impact. But Greg kept driving and “crashed 4 other cars”(Greg). Between the 2nd - 4th car crush Grey said “ I was running on 1 rim and 3 tires”(Greg). After he crashed into the 5th car, he was taken by the ambulance to the hospital. His injuries were minor and he didn’t remember much when he woke up. But couldn’t escape jail time for 3-5 years. During that time his family would come and visit. But they could only talk through a phone and see each other a glass window. After that a breathalyzer was installed in his car for a month. It costed $100 to get put in his car and costed $0.00 to get it removed. He also wore an ankle
