Restrictions keep our young teens from becoming to distracted and potentially hurting others not just in the car, but on the roadways as well. Different restrictions have been set into place for novice drivers including limiting the number of passengers allowed into the vehicle, barring late night driving, and having the teens be temporarily placed under parental supervision. Due to these restrictions, they have caused 1,348 fewer fatal car crashes by 16 year old drivers. Another factor is the percentage of fatal car crashes by 16 year olds dropped due to the vigorous restrictions, states started to add more requirements for our young drivers. With their children driving parents can take a workload off of their shoulders; having to drive one or multiple teens around everyday until they reach the driving age. “What are you doing? Your going to make me drive my kid to the movies on Friday night for another 6 months”(Aubrey, pg.250). With keeping the driving age at 16, the teens can accomplish what they need to get done while the parents can focus on their own work. If we keep the driving age at 16 it will let the teenagers be able to have a car and drive in college rather than having them become licensed in college.This also create a inconvenience in some parents who are exhausted of driving around all day doing their adolescents
