The field of nursing has changed significantly over the years to include a holistic approach in patient care. Therefore, the role of nurses has also transformed to go beyond just providing medical help. Madril and Douglas expose the various sides of nursing and illuminate the reason why nurses should be celebrated for their contribution.
What I learned? This documentary gave me a glimpse of how significant nurses are in healthcare. I never knew that the impact that nurses had on a patient or the countless roles that they take on in their career. They are caretakers, friends, and overall a support system for patients and their families. Nurses carry on the difficult task of being with the patient for their best and worst moments. It was amazing for me to also see how the field of nursing has branched into numerous specialties. I had always thought nursing was limited to the hospital or a family practice clinic. Yet to my surprise, nurses can specialize in almost every field available in healthcare.
