The Digital Camera The digital camera is one of the most useful inventions. According to BBC News, Samsung proclaims that 2.5 billion people or more in the world have a digital camera. The digital camera was invented by Steven Sasson, an engineer for Kodak, in the year of 1975. Before the digital camera, the world’s cameras used rolls of film. This means that people had to buy film. Film was pretty expensive, so not everyone could take pictures. There were a few types of film. There was black and white film, color print film, and color reversal film. These different types of film create different results. Yet, people could not view the pictures without having to go to a photo lab. This problem was solved when Steven Sasson introduced the first digital camera to the …show more content…
It did exactly what it was meant to do. It provided a way to view the pictures people took without needing to visit a photo lab. Though it has some limitations, the digital camera has can be concluded as a success. These limitations are different for every version of the digital camera. Yet, Sasson’s digital camera had a particular limitation that has been solved. It was the size of the camera. Sasson’s camera was much bigger than the cameras nowadays. Back then, there was a complex device strapped to the bottom of the camera. Although this limitation is now solved, the digital cameras nowadays has other limitations as well. For example, now, can’t view our pictures from our television set unless we use a usb or bluetooth. Though there are some limitations, the advantages outweigh the problems. Some advantages that has made the digital camera effective are the ability to view the pictures ion a large screen instead of a small roll of film. Also, now,we can print our photos easily be removing the camera’s memory chip. Then we connect it to our computer and can easily print with our printers.The digital camera has been very useful to people all over the
