Throughout the course of history, John Locke’s the reasoning behind his treaties has proven to be flawed. One such example is Locke’s belief that only men can participate in government. Currently, in some parts of the world, women are active parts in governments. Another flaw was Locke’s idea that all men are able to vote on the government’s plans. However, in the modern day, populations are too large for direct votes so a representative democracy was established. The elected representatives vote on laws on our behalf. Because of this, the representatives may vote, on specific issued, in opposition to the popular want. Since John Locke wrote his treatises a lot has in the way government and society are run.

The biggest limitation of freedom of speech is hate speech; they are pointed at ethnic groups, governments, countries, religious groups and leaders both governmental and religious. For example, radicals giving hate speeches. In fact we would probably declare war against them. In the modern day, there are limitations to freedom of speech and Voltaire’s famous quote about it.
Question 7 Governments should protect the right of free thinking for many reasons. One reason is that the freedom of thinking is a form of freedom of speech. You need to have thoughts against or for something before protesting or supporting the issue. In addition, the freedom of thought helped the world get many life changing inventions, including; the automobile, electricity, communication devices, and many more inventions and innovations. Without the freedom of speech the government could charge the inventors with made up crimes and hinder our technological growth. The right of free thinking needs to be protected by governments for many reasons.
