George Orwell demonstrates the reader and viewer the many differences and similarities in between both his novel Animal Farm and the 1999 film of Animal Farm. The similarities such as the windmill getting destroyed, Boxer’s death, and Napoleon’s order to the puppies to chase Snowball out of the farm appear clearly in both the novel and movie. To start off, in the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell, the windmill that the animals worked so hard to build does get destroyed. The exact same event happens in the movie. In the movie, Jessie, one of the dogs, narrates the entire story in her own perspective. She tells the story and how everything happened. On the other hand the novel, written in third person point of view, does not include a narrator at all. The story retains an unanimous narrator.The way Old Major dies also gives the reader and viewer a clear difference of the novel and movie.. The fact that he dies does not change, but the way that he dies does.
