What is the overall meaning of the poll? what does it show? describe the trend that is occurring.
The overall meaning of the poll was to determine who voters would potentially support other than their already decided upon candidate. To explain, voters who had already made a clear distinction about which candidates they were likely to vote for, were asked, to reevaluate their decisions based on the information they gathered during the New Hampshire Republican and Democratic Presidential Primary. Due to the fact that the poll is meant to evaluate both parties, it has two final results, one for the republican party, and one for the democratic. Within the poll both democratic and republican voters were put into varying levels of certainty about which candidate they would support, the strongest level being titled“completely decided” and the next most significant being titled “strong preference”.
Based on the data accumulated from the republican voters, most republican voters that had a definitive opinion of whom they would support ( completely decided), did not waver from it and supported their first choice. There was a total of 510 participants from New Hampshire, 502 of which were democratic voters and 508 who were republican voters. Due to the fact that the university completes a wide variety of polls it was difficult to discern anyone bias on the political spectrum within the school or by the polls they conducted. Furthermore, because this poll was conducted over the phone the identity of the pollers and the sincerity of their answers can be called into question because without visual identification it would be difficult to gain a specific ID on the participants within the trial, therefore calling into question how diverse and accurate the representation of the participant pool
