What do you think of when you think of success? Do you think of billionaires coming down marble stairs with money overflowing in their pockets? Maybe you think of a doctor saving lives. Although the definition of success is “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose,” everyone has a different idea of what success means to them. For countless people, their ideas and ideals of success change over time, and each person has their own idea of what it takes to be successful. What is success? What makes a person successful? It is interesting to hear a multitude of different answers to the same questions from people in different points in their lives. Jacob Fahey, a high school senior working at Eli Lilly said, “I define success as the achievement of personal, professional, intellectual, or monetary growth that stems from the dedication of an individual to improve himself.” Lisa Hardin, longtime teacher at New Palestine High School, said success is “Enjoying your life on a daily basis.” It is important to note the differences in their definitions of success -- in people ranging from ages …show more content…
