However all of that changed when I walked in the front door, as soon as I opened the door I was overwhelmed by the smell of Lasagna, Sausages, tomato sauce, Meatballs, and so much more.
Even though Danielle's deli is an Italian deli I thought that it would just have Italian meats and cheeses. But I was wrong there is so much more than Meat and cheese and there is so much more than just Italian food. I imagined cases full of Italian meat, Italian sausage, and Italian cheese.
But the boring menu that I imagined turned out to be a variety of hot or cold salads, freshly made and customized sandwiches, freshly delivered breads, handmade desserts and much more. Besides being an Italian deli it is also a family business which opened it’s doors in Brookfield Wisconsin back in 1997 and has over fifty years of experience in the food industry. The Deli used to be called Angelina’s deli which was owned by a man named Dennis who has retired from the Deli business and gave the deli to Danielle his daughter. And ever since it has been renamed and known as

The meatballs were so good, they were huge and came both covered in sauce and with extra sauce. The sausage for also very tasty, kind of spicy and also came with extra sauce. As for the Gnocchi I bought a spinach stuffed gnocchi and I cooked it at home and it was soft, and practically melted in my mouth and was bursting with flavor and to go with it I made a red sauce to mix it into which made it even

The Meatpacking District is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC because of how hip it is and how it is packed with steel and glass lofts, with sun pouring though the oversized windows. It always gives me an electric feeling walking around the cobble streets, looking at the Chelsea Market and walking the High Line. All of that sprightliness is encapsulated perfectly into the Fig and Olive. It has those floor to ceiling windows, that let rays seep in, reinforced by industrial steal framing the beautiful warehouses. The loft-like space of the restaurant has many rugged aspects like the hanging warehouse pendant lights and the metallic components throughout, however Fig and Olive also has a calm Mediterranean feel to its decor.…

The Humble feast menu included beet borsht, mushroom leek risotto, kale spring salad, and peach crisp as dessert. The menu sounded great from first glance especially since I typically eat sandwiches for lunch or frozen food for dinners on the weekend. When the presenter announced where the food was sourced and produced, I felt better knowing that kind of information. I usually don’t know much about the food I eat since I eat alone and sadly don’t really care about that fact. On the table was a sheet that listed the ingredients of each dish and how to cook it.…

According to Cinotto (2013), they created their own values and cultural traditions while only selectively keeping traditions they had known before. This can be seen through cuisine as it has been noted that foods that are seen as culturally Italian now, such as spaghetti and meatballs, may not have been ethnically based but instead ethnically created as women, the caretakers of the family, used what they had available to them (Cinotto, 2013). Cinotto (2013) also notes that this new creativity in cuisine rose from the parent’s disgust due to what their children were being fed in public…
