Children were offered EAL support to pick up language skills. Friendship issues were resolved by support from teachers & special volunteer who worked with school to improve inter-personal skills in pupils.
We (parents) arranged play dates with peers to help them meet and develop friendship. Volunteered school trips and activities to assure children our support in school environment.
What I felt about it
When we(parents) discussed idea of moving to another country, children were very excited. They were very young to understand implications of this change. It was misunderstood by them as a holiday kind of experience. To set up a routine was very different and difficult experience for them. What I learnt from it
With a very encouraging and loving support from school staff, teachers and our efforts they eventually settled well and could achieve in many areas of academic and social development.
