Some jobs especially for upper management or somewhere in the finance field, you need to have excellent credit history. If you have debt the employer can turn you down for the job, and it is not just for higher employment it can go for all types. An example of that form of job is a bank teller, my mom was one once and they did more back ground checks than she thought. I figure if they trust you to handle other people’s money then you should be perfect. Once they see your in credit card debt they think you’re not good with money. My aunt was going for a financing job for the Camden Country building. Since she had credit card debt she was given a two-month period to fix it, but two months isn’t enough time to fix the hole she was in. It took her about a year in a half to fix her debt. She didn’t get that job, now she works at a doctor’s offices making appointments and picking up the phone.
Another way it will affect you is trying to get a car. I know that sounds funny but it’s true. When getting a car and you can’t buy it off in the same day you will get a payment plan. Even those when the car place looks at your back round it can hurt your chances on getting a brand new car. You might have to go and get a used car that is never a bad thing but you still want a car that is yours and you know there is nothing wrong with it.
