In my opinion Sucker had a good reason to turn against Pete. I think that one good reason is that Pete always tricked him. Another reason is that Pete said many mean things to him. Pete was always tricking Sucker. Sucker always forgave him though. One time Pete convinced Sucker to jump off the roof with an umbrella. Pete told him that the umbrella would allow him to float down instead of fall. Sucker tried it and busted his knee. A second reason is that Pete said mean things to him multiple times, and never apologized to him. One example of this is when Pete told him that “nobody cares about you!.........can’t you tell when you’re not wanted?’’ His mean outbursts were usually forgiven by Sucker.
