A Community College Vs. A University Many of High School graduates have a hard decision when choosing if they want to attend a Community College or a University. A Community College will basically give you an introduction about what your major is. In a Community College you can earn your liberal arts and associates degree in vocational areas. The University will help you gain more knowledge into your career. At a University you can earn your Associates, Bachelor’s, and Masters and Doctorates degree. Also when attending a Community College your academics are less serious than a University. The Cost between a Community College and University differs. At a Community college the average amount spent is $3,000 per year. At a University the cost is a lot much more according to CNN Money of 2012 “the average cost for a 4 year college was $8,244.” As for now the average prices to go to school have went up. There is a big Difference between the cost of school for a Community College and a University. Also Community Colleges have more open admissions policies. At a University there is a selectivity for admissions and have more restrictive enrollment
