The population of Hares always spikes when the Fox population is around 500. This happens because the more foxes you have the more they eat in general. Once the Hare population was smaller then the Fox population the Foxes started to die off. Until the Hare regained in numbers.
Their are many different factors that interfere with the with the life of the Clouded Leopard, an apex predator. One of the Clouded Leopards main prey is the deer. If something were to happen to that population for better or for worse, it would effect the Clouded Leopard. Another possibility is that anabiotic factor could be in play like, less shelter or a low amount of precipitation.

As is shows in the Fox and Hare Diagrams, If the population of prey in lower then the population of its predator the, predator population with decreased. That’s because their is not enough food to go around. In the game if their is less food then needed it will be survival of the fittest. If their is more or an excess of food the Clouded Leopard population can grow and thrive. This will make the game easier for the predator to survive in. The Clouded Leopard will eat, wild pigs, deer, monkeys, and
