This program helped NPCs to not only achieve but articulate the clinical leadership competencies required for endorsement as a nurse practitioner in Australia (Leggat,2015).
The limitation of this study is that evaluation measures were self-reports and we couldn't evaluate organizational impact. This small sample size is also a limitation. However, findings suggest that a formal and supported mentoring program can assist NPCs to develop competence in clinical leadership (Leggat,2015).

This framework focuses on four elements, including; nature of transition, transition conditions, process and outcome indicators, and nursing therapeutics. Nature of transition refers to physical, social, emotional, or environmental changes. Transition conditions include both personal perception as well as facility beliefs. Process and outcome indicators demonstrate if the transition is successful. Nursing therapeutics are interventions to promote a healthy, holistic transition (Maten-Speksnijder,
