I selected this sculpture because Jesus is a strong part in my life. Frederick chose not have the thorns on Jesus’ head and the wound on his side because he didn’t want to depict pain and suffering. Frederick wanted to show the peace Jesus was in when he died up on the cross. By doing this, it shows how powerful his body was. Christ on the Cross has a focal point. Actual texture is physical or real surface details that everybody can notice by touching the sculpture. The sculpture has actual texture from his feet to Jesus’s head. The texture makes the sculpture stand out with clothes around his waist and makes it seem like its torn and blowing in the wind. Frederick also puts texture in his breathing pattern. His chest stands out the Fredericks texture pattern by making Jesus’ ribs stick out and making it seem he was under a lot of stress. When the audience looks at his legs, they can see the muscles and the weight Jesus is under. By making the texture style this way, it gives the impression of how much stress was being put on his legs and
