Chile Cuisine Chile is a country that is in the South American Continent. Most of the population is white/ Non indigenous. The main language spoken in Chile is Spanish as well as there also being other languages spoken other than Spanish such as English and other languages among the people that are indigenous to the country. Chile is home to many different kinds of foods that originally originated from Chile with the help of their influences such as immigrants that bring their ideas and culture. As well as its location in South America which lies below Peru and by other countries that are to the right of it as well as the Islands that are off the coast of Chile. One such kind of food that is from Chile is called “Arrollado de Chancho” This type of dish is large piece of pork that is covered in pig fat. Then salt, pepper and Chile powder is added on top of the fat. This dish originated during the time when Chile was under Spanish control. First of all this starts by getting the main ingredient which is the Piure. Which is an interesting organism because it looks like a rock but wen cut in half it looks all red and mushy like a tomatoes. It lives of the coast of Chile and Peru. This creature is a bottom feeder so it just sticks on to a rock as it filters water through its mouth and extracts the nutrients that it needs. As a result this creature has high concentration of an element called Vanadium in its blood which is around 10 million times higher than in the surrounding water it lives in.
