Young kids are being exposed to technology earlier and earlier in their lives every year. Research shows however, that this is not necessarily a good thing and can create language retardation and mental illness in young children. In an article written by Katherine Bindley, Cris rowan, a pediatric occupational therapist states “We’re seeing very, very young children being given these devices to soothe them and entertain them, and it’s displacing the connection with the parent. We’re seeing escalating diagnoses of all sorts of mental illness in children.” This shows how technology creates a disconnect from society and children and parents even in the early stages of a child's life. While it might be an easy way to parent to sit your child in front of the tv or give them a tablet to play on, why not give them something to remember, like a good
