There are many methods to creating embryonic stem cell lines and people think that every method destroys the embryos. In some cases that is true and the embryo does get destroyed but people seem to forget how the researchers acquire the cells. Most of the time embryos are donated to researchers to make medical advancements or the cells were rejected during implantation and cannot be used for anything other than research. There is also a second way in which researchers use to create lines and the method does not destroy the embryo itself. Scientists are able to take a single cell from a very early staged embryo and develop a new line without destroying the embryo.
Religion is very important to a large part of society and can affect many people’s opinions on certain topics just like it does for stem cell research. A lot of people think that their religion is against the process of stem cell research. What people don’t know is that the church only disagrees with one method of stem cell research. The church doesn’t agree with the system where embryos are destroyed because they believe the process kills a life. There are multiple other ways that this is not the case and the embryo can be
