They sleep in a hanging position or curled up in a ball in a fork in the trees. Sloths reside in the trees almost exclusively. They venture out of their trees only to use the bathroom or to swim. They are solitary animals who socialize only by sharing a tree to sleep. Mating for sloths is initialized by a mating scream uttered by the female sloth alerting all of the males in the area that she is ready to mate. The males duke it out by hanging from a tree and swatting at each other until one of them gives up. Females have one baby at a time and gestation is anywhere from 5 months for one species of sloth to 11.5 months for another. (livescience.com)
Scarlet macaws are the largest parrots in the world measuring almost a yard from beak to tail. Macaws live in large, noisy groups and are monogamous. They nest from January through April and mated adults will lay up to two eggs per year. They eat nuts, leaves, berries and seeds. They also eat fruits toxic enough to kill other animals and large amounts of clay which is thought to be a poison neutralizer. The main threats to the scarlet macaw are habitat loss and exploitation for the pet trade.
