It is difficult for individuals to live authentic lives because they may be on the wrong track. Before technology was developed, people connected by face to face communication. As society developed, people created technology as a useful tool to make lives easier. However, “ overwhelmed by the volume and velocity of our lives. We turn to technology to help us find time. But technology makes us busier than ever and ever more is search and retreat”(Turkle 278). The purpose to develop technology is to make life more convenient and effective than before. However, individuals find out that they are busier than before. In the past, people were busy with working, but now they are busy with multitasking. The busy people like Mr. Ravioli believe that being a hard-worker and making themselves busy is the only way to be productive and wealthy. However, the truth sometimes is the opposite of that idea. Busyness is not equal to being productive. Mostly, people do not choose busy as their lifestyle however the society push them to be busy. Hence, people may believe that they need to be busy to get better. Human choose to believe in being busy because they need to find a reason to work hard and to live “happily”. On the one hand, multitasking makes people live efficiently and connect them closer. On the other hand, it pushes people away from authenticity because multitasking separates human’s focus. When they multitask, their mind and their body may in different places. In the modern society, the pace of life is increasing with technological advancements. The velocity and volume of information spread makes people being in busy. Society’s development makes people inauthenticity because they prefer to live in a world what they believe rather than what they see. If humans do not change their ways in technology and their imaginary world, it is difficult to achieve
