Staring at my sister, my heart dropped in my chest. Years ago I had accepted that I was the last of my family, the sole survivor. However, the woman that lied in front of me proved that that was no longer the case. She cried out in her sleep, a paralyzing scream echoed around the room. The urge to go and comfort her was almost too much to bare. The desire to wrap my arms around my older sister and tell her that everything was okay fought against me, as I tried to regain my professionalism. I almost turned away when her eyes cracked open and she narrowed her sights on me.
“You’re Braylynn,” my sister declared, her face completely void of all expression.

I knew I was extremely old, Lupe saying that I rivaled her in age. Distinctly, however, I could only remember the last ten years or so of my life. Lupe had been by my side when I first awoken. She was, in all actuality, the first person I could ever remember meeting. She had explained to me that I had suffered a nasty head wound, and a soft touch to the back of my skull had confirmed her claims. It was only her word against Hal’s. Lupe was the only one that could answer my questions.
To summon Lupe, I would need powerful ingredients from my home. Teleporting there was no issue and within seconds I was rummaging through my cupboards to find the ingredients I needed. Once all of the ingredients were in my possession, I got out my mortar and pestle and began grinding down the herbs. After that was completed, I set the herbs on fire, throwing in the last couple of ingredients into the flames.
Next I began my incantation. The second that I opened my mouth I began to feel the power running within me, the feeling intensifying with each passing word. Soon my entire body was alive with energy and colors danced before my very eyes. Lupe manifested before me, a bewildered expression plastered on her face, transforming into one of complete unease.
