The Hindu caste system consists of four level of social order. There are the Brahmins, which were high priests, they were at the top of the caste system. They “ determined a class order using Vedic hymns as testimony”(The Hindu Caste System 1). Then there were Kshatriyas, which were the warriors and rulers, which were second highest in the caste system. The third highest in the social order is the vaishyas, which were the farmers and skilled workers. And the lowest in the social order that were ranked below everyone was the shudras, the servants. The Brahmins were the highest of the social order and people looked to them for guidance and help to understand their role in society.
