In addition to Area 51 being secluded, the facility is also heavily guarded with security to deter visitors from approaching the area. In 1988, Bob Lazar was hired by a government contractor to work on an exotic spacecraft at Area 51 and to help reverse engineer it for power production. He easily landed the job because of his extensive knowledge in physics and electronics which he acquired at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and California Institute of Technology.
