Results & Supports/Hindrances to Occupational Performance: Upon administration of the COPM, BK has identified the following occupational performance problems as the most meaningful: showering independently (performance of 3, satisfaction of 2), brushing hair and grooming (performance of 5, satisfaction of 2), home maintenance (performance 1, satisfaction 1), meal preparation (performance 5, satisfaction 1) and shopping independently (performance 3, satisfaction 3). This lack of congruence between her bathroom environment and her personal context is also a major contributing factor for her decreased performance and satisfaction in the ADL of showering. The narrowness and overall limited space in the bathroom, combined with the fact that the shower bench allows water to escape the tub increases risk of falls during this ADL. She has the muscular, sensory, and cognitive capacities to shower independently but, she has elevated levels of anxiety because of the lack of congruence between her person and environment, resulting in increased apprehension about the potential risk of falls in her narrow and slippery bathroom.
