During the conference, the constitution was rewritten and it marked the transition from socialism to democracy in the Republic of Benin. According to Benin’s Constitution of 1990, citizens have the right to form political parties and express their views against the government freely. As the number of Nigerian immigrants grew in my country, so did the need for English education. The result was the establishment of English schools for the children of Nigerian residents in my country.
