Animal experimentation happens everywhere, we think since animals have similar structures and organs as us it’s easier to experiment on them but does it make it right? Something the public might not know is we already experiment on people. …show more content…
Primates are basically many types of monkeys like a Chimpanzee's. Primates are very different from other animals because of their not a normal animal that could just live in your house there from the wild. For example “ studies demonstrate that they have mathematical, memory, problem-solving skills and have experienced such emotions like Depression, anxiety, and joy.’’ ( Conlee ) This shows how similar chimpanzees are to humans emotionally and how they are perfect to be experimented on. Other animals experimented on are household animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, hamsters, Guinea pigs, and farm animals. Every time we test on these animals there's a 50% chance it could fail, that’s when we start wasting lives. The failure of testing is risky because animals would get diseases like brain cancer or any other kinds of diseases that they probably wouldn’t get. Researchers don’t really care just what to know the outcome. “ No experiment, No matter how painful or trivial is prohibited and painkillers are not prohibited”( Animal testing is bad). This shows they'll do whatever to get the outcome of the experiments and don’t …show more content…
The Animal Welfare Act is a federal law that gives standards to humans care and treatment for animals under the law. Not all animals are under it, meaning they do not apply. For example “ Animals that are not covered are farm animals used for fiber and hide, cold-blooded species, horses, rats/mice in research they are bred for and amphibians’’ (Animal Welfare). This basically shows not all animals are under the law and are not covered for treatment and care like other animals are. Another example “ The US regulates the treatment of animals in research, exhibition, transport by dealers, public, and for commercials sales’’ (Animal Welfare) This explains the animals under the law are more than just research meaning humans do more with them. Animals under the law must be provided with housing, nutrition, water, veterinary care, must be protected from extreme weather and high temperatures ( Animal Welfare). The Animal Welfare Act is made to protect animals from harm and treatment. Not all animals are covered, but the ones that are can be well
