Animal Farm

― George Orwell Throughout Animal Farm and the Arab Spring there have been many similarities between them.The country that i will share comparisons with Animal Farm There were six Arab countries in which massive peaceful protests called for hated rulers to go in the spring of 2011. Egypt and the island kingdom of Bahrain are now yet more autocratic, in some ways, than when the protests began. Their farmer Mr. Jones, a mean and drunken man, exploited them. One day Old Major, the pig who led the animals, called a meeting of all the animals. In the meeting Major dies and it encourages the animals to have their rebellion. In many ways their way of life is that of Totalitarian government. Totalitarian being a system of government that is centralized, dictatoria, and requires complete subservience to the state. Mr. Jones exploited them in ways of working them to the bone but neglects to feed them, take care of them and he manages to whip them (Orwell 23-25). The animals that lead the rebellion are the two pigs Snowball and Napoleon. It was three months after the death of Major when they revolted against Mr. Jones and they took over the farm. The animals rebelled and had good intentions when they were doing so. The pigs wanted to create a more fair and civilized farm. They had a slogan to follow “Four legs good, two legs bad” and most importantly: "All animals are equal". They also changed the name of the farm to "Animal Farm" from Manor Farm(Orwell 25). One day, when Snowball announced his plans to build a windmill, Napoleon arrived in the farm ready to fight for leadership by bringing nine dogs to scare off Snowbell and deter him from being leader so he can lead it and become the next Mr. Jones(Orwell 67). That’s the real issue with having a rebellion to get a new leader rather than to have a new system entirely. In many ways it is like a never ending cycle because when you give to much power to anyone it leads to corruption. What manages to start as good intentions leads to the most evil of
