According to Andelina, Kosovo is a place where the people that reside there will welcome you with open arms. Those who live in the mountains and small villages love nature but are poor. Their new flag represents …show more content…
Most of the time, I was forbidden to go outside because I was an only child. Andelina mentions how her parents feared that something tragic would happen to her so they chose to keep her inside. This relates to the idea that crimes surround us because of our circumstances. Due to poverty Andelina and I share the same danger of sharing a neighborhood with ignorant people who don’t have respect for human life. Theft, murder and other forms of illegal activity happen occasionally in our communities and countries. Another similarity between our cultures is how our family takes the time to sit around and communicate. Andelina states the bride is sent to the groom’s house and before going inside the bride has to touch sugared water and the sides and top of the door to represent a sweet and long life for them. After that, there’s a small party inside the house and the bride and groom take pictures with the bridesmaids. In the night, there is a huge celebration, which is to congratulate the married couple and everyone throws money at them. Dominicans have a different way of doing this. The day before the marriage is usually hectic because everyone is getting prepared for the ceremony. The ceremony is usually in a church where the priest blesses the couple and where the couples state their wedding vowels. In
