The different sects and offshoots of anarchy, as I have found them, are as follows: Anarchism, anarcho-syndicalism, anarcho-capitalism, anarcho-communism, anarcha-feminism, eco-anarchism, mutualistic anarchism, individualism, Christian anarchy, literary anarchy, Collectivism, anarcho-primitivist, and surely the list can continue for pages and pages (Kinna, 2005). Every time there is a riot or looting, the word anarchy is not far behind. There are punk rock bands singing of rape and destruction while praising anarchy. The movie The Purge: Anarchy released in 2014 is about one day in a fictional society where there are no laws. And when there are no laws of course everyone goes on killing sprees, buildings are burned to the ground, and innocents are kidnapped and murdered for no reason. The image of anarchy in the majority of people’s minds is not the anarchy that anarchists support. This causes so much confusion.
