Analysis Of The Mission Of CBYXY

Decent Essays
The mission of CBYX is to engage American teenagers. To let them experience, and educate language and culture of Germany without the lenses of stereotypes. I can contribute to the mission of CBXY by sharing the experiences that I will have in Germany with people within my community. Most of my peers at school have only traveled to neighboring states, and have never gone outside of the Southern region of the United States. By going to Germany I would be able to bring new ideas and culture directly to them instead of hearing of it through second-hand resources. Getting to know the culture of Germany and being able to share its culture and my culture is what appeals to me. The prospect of being an ambassador by sharing my own culture and ideas

Since the moment I got here I felt at home. Even before I decided to attend Florida Southern, my admissions counselor was extremely patient and helpful. Now, as a student I work in Admissions as a Southern Ambassador. While giving tours, I have noticed what a small and great community Florida Southern is; current students wave at us on a tour showing how friendly our campus is, professors smile at us showing their excitement in seeing potential new students. Whether you are involved in greek life or you are a member of other organizations and clubs, you can always leave your mark on campus.…

As a German American citizen with Hispanic heritage I have overcome many language and cultural barriers that have stood in my path. For the last few weeks our class has been discussing what it means to be a discourse community as well as what it means to be a part of one. I am writing this paper to impart upon the fellow students in our class, as well our professor that I not only understand the meaning on a discourse community but that I also have been a full-fledged member of one myself. To further verify the extent of my membership I also am able to show the ethos, logos, and pathos that I encountered while within my discourse community over the past year. The discourse community in which I was a part of was show choir, the varsity choir at my high school. It was my junior year in high school when I decided that I wanted to join and at the time I did not know how to join and decided that I should I ask director how to do so.…

One of the reasons I would be honored to be a student ambassador is because I want to introduce and familiarize other prospective students with the school that I love so much, that has opened so many doors of opportunities, introduced me to so many amazing people, and has given me a top notch education. I want to encourage students who are perhaps unsure if WSU is right for them, or if college in general is right for them, that WSU and all that it has to offer makes it the place for anyone, from all backgrounds, all experiences, and all areas of interests. This is because WSU also offers majors, clubs and organizations, and communities in which anyone can find a sense of belonging and acceptance. Aside from the school itself, WSU is home to…
