The main point of the experiment was used to see if the community would notice changes in increased amount of police presences and if criminals would change their behaviors to reduce crime. After the conclusion of the experiment, surveys and data was collected to determine if the increase of patrol reduces criminal activity.

The finding would be expected for categories such as rape, homicide and common or aggravated assault. The crimes were not significantly affect by the change in patrol. It was determined the statistical finding was difficult to analyze because the pattern of arrest was so inconsistent that it could not be determined. Therefore, surveys were taken before and after the experiment to see if the citizens attitude toward crime. The way they found attitude of citizen’s fear of crime in three ways. First, a series of questions in community survey to determine the level of fear, second a series of questions regarding protective and security measures taken by citizens. Lastly, the survey covered the protective and security measures used by businesses. The Citizen fear of crime was determined that it was not significantly affected by the change of routine preventive
