Maslow created something called the hierachry o needs. This theory was established when he realized that humans function within different levels of growing. With his hierarchy there are 5 different levels. Each level is made with the help of another level. If you miss one level it changes the development of a person character. The first level is physiological, which is all the basic needs such as food,water,sex,and,sleep. After that stage is completed we make our way down to safety, which is one of the important levels that will be discussed based off of Will and Jeannette’s struggle. Safety is then followed by love and belongings,next there is esteem, and the last is self actualization which many people don 't gain in their lifetime. This is because these two learned how to treat every obstacle and find a solution for it. Self Actualized people have better grasp on reality and tend to focus on things that are not on themselves(Crawford,2015,p.83). With this being said it truly describes Will and Jeannette. During one scene in the move, Will was at a bar and saw his buddy getting into an argument he couldn 't win. Will stepped in and outshine the guy proving he could solve situations. He put himself in a situation that had nothing to do with him for the sake of his friend. This is similar to Jeannette, when her brother was being abused she tried to stop it. She put her self into a situation so that she could help him instead of helping herself first.
