The Whigs are one group, but different members of the group do have different ideas of what they personally want out of the revolution. However, at the end of the revolution they all want to be free from Great Britain and be able to actually have their own interest in mind when decisions are made about their country. In this document George Washington orders an expedition of the Iroquois Indians in which he tells them to go to the six nations of the Indians and totally destroy and devastate the settlement and capture as many prisoners as possible while destroying all crops for the future (Week Eleven Reading, 218). In the document he basically says they are going to go all throughout New York, destroying Indian settlements and only make peace with them after you finish destroying everything they have (Week Eleven Reading, 220). When you look at this from an Indian type of view the Indians are obviously going to fight back, but they don’t have nearly the same types of weapons that the American army has so it’s going to be difficult to stand their ground and fight back. Then, once their settlements are completely destroyed the people who are still alive, aren’t really going to want to make peace and join America, but they are kind of forced to because they have nothing else left for them at their settlements. The Indians also end up losing all their territories and force to either conform to the American culture or go to prison, which is not what they were hoping for when the war started. All of these perspectives are crucial to figuring out the world around the American Revolution and what different groups have done during this time and for what
