Dream. Which most of the characters do not believe in but still like to think of it for comfort when the going gets rough. Most of the Characters in John Steinbeck 's novel “Of Mice and Men” have very different opinions about the American Dream.The two main Characters of the novel, George and Lennie, never did believe in the dream.
Within having the, “American Dream” there are a lot of things you can have or do to build up to the dream. For one it could be as simple as owning a home, it can show you a part of the dream such as freedom and individuality.There is a lot of freedom in the american dream, which is being able to do anything you desire. Enjoying freedom you choose can vary from many different things, while living the dream you can do anything that you desire which is what I would say is to be the American Dream. This would also be leading into the activities you like to do while living the American Dream. That could be such as: working, lounging, doing things with your favorite people, or just anything you wish to do. He was very happy and excited about the dream and thought every bit of it could come true. Candy had barely any money to get to the place that he wanted to be in the dream. But he still wanted to get to the dream ranch with all of his friends. Candy was disappointed about not being able to get to the American dream with George and Lennie because he had such a large amount of hope and was willing to give everything he had to achieve this dream. George half-closed his eyes. "I gotta think about that. We was always gonna do it by ourselves." Candy interrupted him, "I 'd make a will an ' leave my share to you guys in case I kick off, 'cause I ain 't got no relatives or nothing…"
