To work as a social worker you need to be emotionally mature, objective, and sensitive to people and their different problems. They must be able to handle responsibility, work independently, and maintain good working relationships with clients and co-workers (A Career as a Social Worker, 217).Respecting people doesn't mean they completely trust you. Respect will get you much farther than control or telling them what to do. Alway suggest them different solutions, don't tell them to go here and do that. Social workers work in many different places and in many different environments. They work with people who are having problems as big as abuse to as small as needing a job. They can help you adopt a kid or they can help you find a apartment. More than 600,000 people in the United States hold social work degrees. Did you know social working was created to ensure that immigrants and other people gained skills to escape economic and social problems (Occupational Outlook). Social workers have and will help people you know. Next time you are in a difficult situation think about going to see a social worker.
