This week you are to examine an existing IEP of a student who has been diagnosed with a Specific Learning Disability and develop three lesson plans for that student in the areas of reading, writing and math. You are to use the lesson plan format as outlined in the course syllabus and the directions for this assignment. Many of you have already stressed that you cannot view an IEP, therefore I have posted an IEP under the Resource Tab and then under Add ons. This is an IEP I wrote for one of my high school students. He has goals written in all three subject matters. I have tried to take out any identifying information such as name and address etc. However if you come across his name, please disregard it. This IEP is for a senior and he has actually dropped out of school recently but the IEP is still good until it expires or he drops back in. Please use the IEP for this assignment (attached) if you wish and cannot get your hands on any other.
Please make sure you use the Hunter model for your lesson plans. You do not have to use the template just use the same headings. Of course I would like to see one paper with all three essays. You still need to have a title page and reference page if you use outside references. You have to create your own lesson plans. Do not use any “canned” ones from a website. This will be put through Turnitin and it has to be fewer than 20% like all other papers. Read the grading rubric. Any questions please let me know!

Describe how the materials are adapted in school settings to accommodate students with special needs.
Include in the description the impact of learning styles.
What strategies are used to notify the regular education teacher to ensure that modifications are implemented?
What steps are undertaken if the teacher does not accommodate the student's special needs or learning style?
