Refugee Committee
400,000 refugees and PoWs were returned home from Turkey after WWI in 1922. The League helped protect over 100,000 refugees from Cholera and other diseases.
ILO (International Labor Organization)
The ILO was successful in banning poisonous white lead from paint and limiting work hours for child labor. It also set work hour limits, although a few industries followed it, due to costs)
Health Committee (World Health Organization)
Tried to deal with leprosy. Started global campaign to exterminate mosquitoes which significantly reduced cases of malaria and yellow fever. The USSR (who opposed the LoN) took the Health Committee's advice for preventing the plague in Siberia.
Transport
The League made recommendations on marking shipping lanes and produced an international highway code for road users.
Social Issues
Closed down 4 major Swiss drug companies, dealt with major illegal drug trades. It freed 200,000 slaves (of the British Empire). Helped reduce death rates during the construction of the Tanganyika railway in Africa.
