“Let’s get this started, shall we?” Zero clapped his hands and rubbed them together, shaking the square rimmed glasses that sat on the bridge of his crooked nose.
I stood in the back corner and watched as the four boys, all barely men, who entered after me took their seats directly in front of Zero’s desk, I made no motion to sit down and Zero continued with his debrief.
“You four,” he addresses them and gestured with his hand, “will be joined by Agent -“
“Seven,” I cut him off before he can say something else, he looks at me amused, as did the boys, however, more so with suspicion, I ignored them all.
“May I ask why we are gaining a team member, Sir?” one of the boys asked.

“I won’t work unless I have your word it is a temporary relocation,” my eyes narrow at him.
“Fine,” he spat, his frustration evident.
“Zero, Sir, we don’t want some girl on our team,” Alex says.
“Seven is not some girl, she is the best in the agency,” Zero defends me.
“She’s the best?” Alex points a finger at me.
Zero only nods, a smile twitching on his lips.
“Better than us?” Alex scoffs.
“You’ll have to find out,” he answers coyly.
“I want a straight answer, Sir, I don’t want some wimpy girl who I have to carry around over my shoulder,” Alex exclaims.
I hold my tongue, and curl my fist, Zero, however, beats me to it, only adding more the shroud of mystery that now surrounds me, “Alex Agent Seven here, is far more than you could ever bargain for,” his voice grows cold, “Remember boys, looks are meant to deceive,” he eyes each one.
