The journals of countless Indian soldier that partook in the Battle of Tobruk were they told their dreaded story about death,hunger and victories. In these journals some even complain about how they felt like they were not treated as heros and some say the lack of recognition make them second think if it was worth going to Tobruk. Australia was everywhere in WW2. They helped in a broad number of battles and were in numerous theaters of war. Australia in addition of having to fight a war on their own homefront, sent 575 thousand soldiers across the sea to help in these battles. Australian bombers paved the way in the Italian campaign, sent pilots to help in the Battle of Britain and sent infantry to Miller East/African campaign. In the north african campaign australia started with quick computation of key axies strongholds, with that they went from battle to battle winning. From Bardia, Cyrenaica, Benghazi, El Alamein and surviving to their limits in Crete’s island defence. On top of that helped airwise in the defence of Britain and helped control and fight back german forces in the air. Australia truly made notable contribution by sending in 7.2% of their whole population, to compare US sent around 9%.
