By 1917, it was clear that the U.S. could not stay neutral much longer.Too many events were pushing America into war .

To prepare for World War One Americans had much to do .To prepare Americans about World War one the government advertised, gave lectures ,and brief speeches and made posters .This propaganda encouraged Americans to join the war effort in many ways.
To get troops to fight in World War one a Congressional act was passed called Selective Service Act in 1917 authorizing a draft of men for military service . This is how the U.S. got enough troops. Young men registered and were assigned a number .Then the government had a lottery in July to decide who were the first draftees.
The people that fought in the war were courageous just to know that they could die ,some of them did die in the War for our lives to protect us
