I am not certain on what company or specific field I would like to work for, but it would most definitely be a company that is well organized and has respect for its human capital. The human capital is the sum of the kills, knowledge, and general attributes of the people in an organization. The human capital can be the source of competitive advantage for the organization by human capital value, rareness, and imitability. The human capital value is the extent to which individuals are capable of producing work that supports an organization’s strategy for competing in the marketplace. The human capital value is the quality of the services, products, or individuals within the organization that can have perceptions of having a higher value against the competitors. The human capital rareness is the extent to which the skills and talent of an organization’s people are unique in the industry. Individuals with rare abilities are important for organizations to have hired because the organizations will have an advantage against the competitors. The human capital imitability is the extent to which the skills and talents of an organization’s people can be copied by other organizations. In chapter 1 from the course textbook, we discussed that individual, interpersonal, and organizational factors determine the behavior and the ideal value of people in an organization. The individual factor has individuals having the ability to learn, the ability to self-managed, personality characteristics, self-motivated, technical skills, and personal values. The individual factor represents the important capabilities from the individuals that can provide to the organization. The interpersonal factor has the quality of leadership, communication within and between groups, intragroup and intergroup, and decision-making skill. The interpersonal factor impact the level to which the capabilities of individuals are release and entirely utilized within an organization. The organizational factor has the adaptability, culture, policies, work environment of the organization. The organizational factor influence whether the skills, talents, and propitious attitudes of individuals are productively influenced to create positive results. These three factors of a strategic approach to organizational behavior constitute the outcome of productivity, satisfaction, and organizational success.
