The effect is to increase the concentration of dissolved gases (mostly steam, sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide) in the remaining liquid magma, making the subsequent eruption more violent.
The big eruption in 79 A.D had a huge impact on the vegetation in the surrounding areas. The entire region was left covered in three meters of ash turning it into a desert wasteland. Any plants that came in contact with the lava died. The harmful greenhouse gas was also one of the many dangerous toxins that came from the eruption.
Mount Vesuvius is today a huge tourist attraction. On June, 1995 Mount Vesuvius surrounding area became an official National Park. There are many different ways for people to discover the volcano.
All in all, Mount Vesuvius is the most dangerous volcano in the world that is still active today. The eruption 79 A.D was the most destructive disaster from a volcano eruption in history. Without any warnings the volcano destroyed everything, the environment, vegetation, and infrastructure was ruined for centuries.
