What Is Gun Control Persuasive Essay

Gun Control In just the few short months of 2018, there has already been 16 high school shootings that have resulted in death or injury and over 26 students, who had their lives taken from them, were killed. More high school students are killed each year than military personnel. Gun control is one of the many controversial topics in our government today, as well as our very detailed past. Guns and gun control has built our society into what it is today and has had a major impact in our country's history. Anyone in this country can obtain a gun, legally or illegally, and that is why guns seem to be having such a negative impact on our society, government, and our lives nowadays. In my opinion, this country needs to have stricter and more enforced laws to help keep the citizens safe everywhere they go. If it were in my hands to do something and have competence to change the laws, I would let individuals carry and or own weapons but they would need to have mental screenings between six months to a year to make sure that they are still capable of operating a firearm at one hundred percent. For example if a person owns a firearm suddenly gets into an accident and has becomes physically disabled affecting his eyesight or range of motion, he should be re-tested and or should be subjected to recertified. He or she should be able to pass the physical and mental requirements. Background checks and screenings are a necessity before a person get certified to own a gun or any kind of weapon permitted by the second amendment. If these precautions are taken our innocent society will not have to suffer from stress, fear of life, and the torture that comes from gun violence related
