In math every time we use tickets out the door, observations, and the chapter review of that particular section to assess that our students are learning and understanding concepts.
The assessment for this particular activity that I choose is the ticket out the door.

For each section in the math chapter there is a new skill being taught, so we use a ticket out the doors to make sure students understand that skill before moving on or adding another step. This ticket out the door usually contains 2-3 questions related to the skill. For example, we have been working on dividing shapes into halves and identifying a half. In the ticket out the door students were to circle the shape that showed a half. They were to sit in their testing spots, away from other students to ensure that all students were showing their own knowledge.

After checking all the tickets out the door, only 5 of my students did not meet the criteria stated above. Out of the two problems in the ticket out the door they missed one or both, even though they were very similar problems. This tells that the students were guessing so they got 1 out of 2 or did not understand if they missed both. We have 23 students total and 18 we able to pass it, so that tells me that 78% of my class passed the ticket out the
