Many kids experience the summer learning loss which is when someone goes for a long time without learning, kids forget what they learned. Once the kids go back to school it takes months for teachers to teach all the things they learned last year. If schools use the year-round schooling system teachers will not have to user months to teach kids what they learned last year. Teachers have more time and can teach more and students learn more and still have breaks in the school year.
In the regular school calendar there is a three month summer break that all kids love to have, but toward the end of the summer, many kids get bored with summer breaks. They already had their vacation and camps are all most done. There is not enough money to keep kids occupied all summer long. With the year round schooling, there is a small summer break where kids can go have a vacation and not be bored with a long summer vacation. There will also be money from camps that the schools can cut and get more money for academics.
More and more schools are switching to all year round schooling. It prevents burnout of both students and teacher, the so-called summer learning loss, and kids getting bored in the long summer break.
