One of the most energetic speeches and motivating lifted many students’ spirits. Mr. Bullock spoke of God allowing us to struggle until we’re ready to accept him and grow. He related many of the bible stories involving sins however after a period of suffering God allowed them to flourish. This new perspective made me question my knowledge of bible stories and try to change my perspective. Throughout my life like others, I have gone through many obstacles however they have shaped me into a strong person and led me to Berea College. If God has a plan for everyone, each of our unique struggles are directing us to our path once we take God into our heart. Offering a high quality liberal arts education, Berea allows everyone to explore areas of study. The commitments and No tuition promise make this college stand out as the best option for many students financially and socially. The Alumni speaker Dr. Dean highlighted the commitments existence in the community way earlier than Rev. Fee writing them down. As times change, the commitments are revised and it continues to support all drives in life. Dr. Dean spoke of each individual as vessels to carry god’s love and correct others to better the world.
